The global challenges and recent economic developments (e.g. the financial crisis, and significant sales slumps) force companies to change. Under heavy time pressure they are obliged to check their structures and processes, to massively reduce costs and to flexibly respond to market changes and different surrounding conditions. In this critical situation it might my necessary to initiate appropriate measures like restructuring an organisation or to even merge with another company in order to survive.
On this basis new organisations, operation processes and interdependencies arise, which most often seem to be uncontrollable. This leads to big challenges for every company’s people, because expectations towards their performance rises as well as new requirements to adapt quickly. The need for change, for continuous performance improvement and cost reduction that has already been increasing during the last years is now putting additional pressure on the companies’ individuals and groups.
